BSAC Training

Under the PADI scheme I like to take a one to one approach, with home based theory study using DVD and printed material and tutorial sessions and pool training arranged to meet your individual needs.

Training operates on a 'pay-as-you-go' arranagement with initial costs from as little as £85 for the Open Water course.  The package includes:
  • "Go Dive" Diver Trainning Manual
  • "Go Diving" DVD
  • Dive Planning Slate and instructional booklet
  • Divers Log Book and Trainning Record
  • Your first pool trainning session
Subsequent pool sessions from £15

From then on your training proceeds on a time and materials basis, but at a pace to suit both you and your pocket.

Alternatively you can try an "Experience SCUBA" pool session for £15,  if you then decide to take the course, the £15 is deducted from your initial course fee.

The PADI Open Water Course consists of 5 confined water dives (pool sessions), during which the student must attain certain minimum performance standards.  Depending on your particular trainning needs and the pace at which you feel comfortable, additional pools sessions may be required.

Life After the Pool

Open water training is undertaken at a variety of inland and coastal locations. Abercastle and St Brides Bay, Pembrokeshire being amoung my favourites.

Chepstow is Home of the National Diving Diving & Activity Centre and offers an excellent inland training venue.

West wales offers some great dive sites, with opertunities to explore the many bays and kelp forests, with seals a common bonus.

I have a small selection of Tanks, Weights, BCD, and Regulators which are available for the pool sessions.  If personal needs dictate and certainly regards a suit for the open water dives, equipment hire is available from a number of SCUBA stores.

Please make use of the "Links" page to check out the prices of typical equipment hire, inland dive site entrance fees, boat charter for a typical coastal dive trip etc.
